    Just wanted to take a moment and thank Carvel for all the years of joy and deliciousness they’ve been responsible for in my life. I was fortunate to grow up with a Carvel minutes from my parent’s home in Dunedin, FL. It was a weekly tradition for my mom and I to go to our local Carvel, and enjoy a cone. I don’t remember the name of the man who ran it, but he was always dressed all in white with his paper hat and so friendly (as a child I was convinced he was so friendly simply because he got to have Carvel all day). She always would get Maple Walnut and I would get the Vanilla Soft Serve in a sugar cone with rainbow sprinkles. That location closed many years ago. A few years ago, I discovered a store just a few miles away and now we are enjoying Carvel’s treats once again. And yes, I still get my Rainbow Sprinkled Soft Serve cone. :) Tried a Fudgie the Whale cake for the first time this week…it was FABULOUS! Thanks for all the great treats and great memories!

      There’s a definite difference, Simon! All Carvel cakes that are purchased in local stores are made fresh (in-house, by hand) usually within a few days of your visit. The grocery store cakes are made in a warehouse & shipped across the country. While we are thrilled to have our cakes available in a variety of venues, our shoppes are the place to go to get the best tasting treat.

    I used to live on Long Island as a kid and we had a carvel in my hometown (Merrick) and was always able to purchase either soft or hard pistachio ice cream without the nuts. 2years ago i had to go to Long Island in an emergency and was still able to get pistachio that way which was absolutley fantastic. i now live in the Atlanta area how can i get pistachio ice cream without the nuts. Can i order it special ie pint, quart, gallon. Please let me know if there is a way i can get my favorite ice cream THANK YOU WILLIAM BICKUM

      Glad to hear you still love Carvel’s pistachio ice cream! I had it for the first time earlier this year & it’s fantastic!

      While our northern locations almost always have soft & hard pistachio flavors, it’s not as common down south. I would contact the shoppe closest to you & put in a special request with the Franchise Partner. Please let me know if you run into any problems!

      While there are no nuts or nut products in our ice cream cakes, our stores are not nut-free. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that even though a cake does not contain nuts, it has not been in contact with nuts.

      The following products in our shoppes contain nuts:

      Peanut Butter
      Ground Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
      Ground Heath Bar
      Crushed Peanuts
      Diced Almonds
      Chopped Pecans
      Chopped Walnuts
      Pistachios

      The following items contain traces of nuts or are made in a plant that also produces products that contain nuts:

      Lil’ Rounder Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Sugar)

      Where are you located? I would recommend visiting the shoppe to speak with the owner directly & explain the seriousness of the situation. They should be able to tell you if they can provide you a cake that is 100% safe. I am sorry that I can’t be of more help, but I hope this information at least points you in the right direction.

      I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble finding Carvel cakes in your area. Our partner, Celebration Foods, manufactures the cakes for grocery store sales. If you go to the store locator on their website (http://www.celebrationfoods.com/storelocator.htm), you can find the outlet nearest you that sells them.

      I did a quick search for Salem, New Hampshire & found that they should be available at Shaw’s, Market Basket & BJ’s.

      Thanks for your inquiry! Unfortunately, we no longer have Carvel trucks that serve our retail shoppes. What you probably saw was actually a Celebration Foods truck, which is a separate company that makes cakes to sell in grocery stores.

      That being said, we would love to be a part of your event. I would recommend you reach out to the closest retail shoppe and see if they would like to participate by serving ice cream or something. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any problems or need help coordinating.

        Low fat chocolate: 190
        Regular chocolate: 270
        Low fat vanilla: 200
        Regular vanilla: 290
        For a Junior size cup, subtract 20 calories for the cake cone.

        Nice to know I can continue to enjoy my favorite ice cream and still lose weight!

      You can customize our ice cream cakes any way you like (including having one made with our Carvelite ice cream) – but only if you purchase it from one of our retail locations. The grocery store cakes are not customizable.

      Most of our Shoppes have special edible image printers, so you can email them the file and they can print the image out for your cake.
